ABOUT THE PROJECT

Titans Under Sails is an NGO that organizes rehabilitation sailing trips for defenders with amputations and those released from russian captivity. The 7-day rehabilitation trip combines sailing instruction, shared crew responsibility on board, and psycho-emotional relief. On board, there is no difference between those giving and receiving help - there is only one crew. Defenders, alongside their brothers-in-arms and volunteers, stand watch, handle the sails, and are responsible for their roles just like everyone else. It is precisely this environment of equality and responsibility that restores confidence in one’s own strength and readiness to move forward.

Oleksandr Chumak

Veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war. Soldier of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. Participant in a rehabilitation sailing trip Canary Islands 2026. Oleksandr has always loved traveling, and his participation in the rehabilitation sailing trip became both an opportunity and a test of his physical abilities. He is now an ambassador for adaptive sports and actively helps organize trips for veterans and their families.

Dmytro Losev

Veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war. Soldier of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. Participant in a rehabilitation sailing trip Canary Islands 2025. After completing his sailing rehabilitation with the Titans, Dmytro enrolled in a professional sailing school and earned an international skipper's license. In October 2025, he returned to the "Titans Under Sails" project — this time as a skipper, leading crews of fellow soldiers on upcoming rehabilitation trips.

Yuriy Oliynyk

Veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war. Soldier of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kish Otaman Ivan Sirko. Participant of the rehabilitation sailing trip in Greece 2025. Yuriy became the first Titan with a high double amputation. Sailing rehabilitation gave him the strength and support needed for double prosthetic fitting. Now Yuriy moves confidently on his own and travels independently.
